Designing UI & UX strategies for a logistics company expanding to the B2C market through a new app

Kerry Express (KE) is a well-known regional courier. The company focused on B2B delivery solutions in the past decade. In 2021, KE planned to expand its business to the B2C and cross-border delivery market. I helped KE design the UI and UX of its new mobile apps for consumers to manage delivery shipments and earn loyalty points, so as to maintain relationships with consumers.

Background

Kerry Express, a member of Kerry Logistic Network, is currently handling more than 1 million parcels in the region on a daily basis, which is the growing delivery service provider.

Challenge

Integrate various businesses - The client had existing business solutions in various areas. The product should integrate different sectors and connect them with the customers.
Design a sustainable UI system - Although the client had a brand guideline, it did not cover digital products. The solution should establish a sustainable UI design system for future use.
Work under a tight timeline - To serve the new businesses, the client wanted to launch the product within a quarter from design to launch.

Design Criteria

Considering the mobile app for public who using the express service, the UX and UI design should possess these criteria:

Connective

Develop a sense of connection between the user and the company, ultimately to build loyalty.

Sustainable

Design a shell application that can support the continued growth of a super app.

User-friendly

Provide an easy-to-use experience to diverse audiences from different backgrounds using the logistic service.

Facilitated the design process of a new consumer-facing app that enables users to access the delivery status of over 60,000 packages daily.
